Is the long, tousled, beachy hair sooo last year? It seems like A-listers are continuously giving their head a shake and getting rid of some loose ends.  As a long hair veteran myself the moment of honesty and self reflection has finally arrived….should I be shedding some length this spring?

Starlets like Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Rosamund Pike among many others have provoked recent contemplation. So, for those of you who are already being mistaken for Emma? You’re doing something right, but for the rest of us… I know I know, its a hard decision; Margot Robbie looks wonderful in her LOB (long bob) buttttt, I don’t look like her….

Don’t you fret my fellow rapunzels I have a solution  so you don’t get tangled up in this decision (I mean, how often do we do the slow motion herbal essence hair flip anways..) I have developed a guide to help you feel confident about the chop and feel beautiful with the results!

THE CUT

The Scholar:

main - 2

Move over mullet, the scholar look is coming in hot! As great as it looks on Beyonce- AVOID AVOID AVOID if you have a lot of volume or thick hair (unless of course you have an entourage of stylists following you around 24/7).  This will give thick haired girls a permanent ‘triangle’ look. This looks best on those with silky smooth hair, or slight waves. Looking for layers? not with this cut, this is a one length trim for a bolder statement.

BEST FOR:  Heart Shaped | Long Face | Oval Face

The Pompadour:

main -4

This is the boldest statement out of the latest cuts and takes the most amount of effort. For this reason we suggest that those of you who are best friends with the snooze button.. AVOID. This cut is best for those who have some natural body to their hair but also the flexibility to have their part go either way! Product will become your new best friend, but the fun never ends with the countless styles and looks you can create.

BEST FOR:  Oval Shaped | Heart Shaped | Square Shaped

Business In The Back:

NECK HERE

We know this is where all the knots and tangles occur, especially if you have curly or thicker hair! This is a great cut for the spring/ summer months as this will make your hair more manageable as the weather is warming up! Best Part? It works for any face shape! Just not in the mood that day? leave your hair down! Feeling like growing it out? No one will ever know.

BEST FOR: ANY SHAPED FACE

The All Tousled Up:

EMMA HAIR

This style can be cut to any length, but normally falls no more than two inches below the chin. It offers more volume and body than The Shoulder Duster and can be layered in a variety of ways depending on your face shape. This is perfect if you already have naturally wavy hair! Just shower, scrunch it up, and you are on your way in no time!

BEST FOR: Oval Shaped Face | Long Face |

The Shoulder Duster :

main -3

Usually a blunt cut just above the shoulders. It may be slightly longer at the jaw shorter in the back eliminating weight at the back of face. This cut can have a centre part or dramatic side part. This is perfect for those who are a little nervous about making the full commitment as you still have a little length to be able to tuck it back!

BEST FOR: Round Shaped Face | Heart Shaped Face

The Pixie:

main 1

This cut comes back time and time again so it looks like you are safe with this one! Sorry goldie locks- this one is not for you. To avoid looking like a poodle, keep this cut reserved for those who have pin straight hair and are looking for little maintenance.

BEST FOR: Heart Shaped Face | Square Shaped Face
